I wonder what your day would be like if you spent your day with me. I want to know if your new show is on in time for me to see. So come and sit down next to me so we can hang out you and me. So, did you win the gold or bronze? I wonder when your show is on.. Just come and sit down next to me, so we can hang out you and me. The time is now so don’t ‘dis out on me, the one and only. Time and time and time is what I have and what I haven’t got is you. Don’t get a clue I’ll come to you unless you do not want me to look you up and track you down, and stalker I’ll be when I’m down, but when I’m back I’ll break it down just like the next part of this. I just want you to know that I am the one you’re thinking about. Don’t hesitate to approach me, I am the one and only. Sometimes when I’m thinking about you I go insane; I go insane because you drive me there; I cannot help it and I can’t help you and me were meant to be the critics all seem to agree, so let’s have lunch the bill’s on me, the cost to you is free. Breakdown. I say yes. You say no. And here we go.

Happy 02:38
They don’t want me dressing like a girl. Scared I’m gonna go and wreck the world. Making everybody else Happy Now I wonder why I’m the one who’s sad. They don’t encourage that behavior. And they don’t condone shit like that. They don’t encourage that behavior. It’s the worst dress code that we ever had. They don’t like my sashes or my curls. Say that I’m too "pretty" for a girl. Hate all my painted fingernails, and say I can’t hang out at the bake sale. ‘Cause all they want is their money, and they’re not gonna stop until it’s in their grasp. All they want is their money. For the worst fucking code we ever fucking had. You can’t wear that! They don’t want me dressing like a girl. Scared I’m gonna go and wreck the world. Making everybody else Happy Now wonder why you’re getting all so mad. They don’t encourage that behavior. And they don’t condone shit like that. They don’t encourage that behavior. It’s the worst dress code that we ever had.

Check your optimism at the door, can’t look out for me no more. ‘Cause everything’s said and everything’s done. It don’t mean anything, can’t tell me a thing anymore. Can’t tell me anything anymore. Life of hope, life of regret; a taste of pain is what I said. You drink your life away, but it don’t kill the pain. Sitting a bar, waiting for the girls. You drink your life away, but it don’t kill the pain. Just wanted to tell you that you’re cool. Look at the Polaroid and say “Wanna see you everyday. Wanna see you everyday.” You drink your life away, but it don’t kill the pain. Writing home, Writing home that makes you scream. Fallen dreams, fallen dreams what does it mean? Sitting at a bar, waiting for the girls. You drink your life away, but it don’t kill the pain. Just wanted to tell you that you’re cool.

I wanna be Frank Sinatra, or Barry Manilow. I wanna play like Woody Guthrie, or Elvis Costello, but you never knew. Whoa, no. Life-Crisis. When you’re finished usin’ me, put me back to sleep. I’ve got the “Friends” I need, at home on my T.V., which you never knew. Whoa, no. Life-Crisis.

The New You 04:01
What’s this thing staring back at me? Still the same; some things never change. Guess it’s true. Now your hair is blue. Wasted time. That I spent waiting on you. Is this the girl, that I thought I knew? It’s the new you. It’s gonna take some getting used to. Smoke your Marlboros, you try so hard to keep up a clean nose. And in the end, you’re dead as a doornail. You did good to keep yourself out of jail. I don’t know what the f*** this life is about. It’s the new you. It’s gonna take some getting used to. Yo, yo. Do Chris drive Mercedes? With the honeys in the back. Pop a top. Yo we pop the cap. Bustin’ up on all y’all. Come and get you some, come and get the ball. Like Mike Jordan, pop a top of forty. Come and take the forty-five, get down on shorty. Never had enough, no we never sayin’ bluff. Get back, step back Newsville never had enough.

I turned 18 just the other day. Never thought that I would get away. It’s funny how everything stays the same, when you know it all will change. Ringin’ in my ears it won’t go away hearing of your name. Barry White’s dead! I turned 18 just the other day and found out Barry White is dead. It’s hard to remember the things you say when you can’t remember what he said. Ringin’ in my ears; it won’t go away hearing of your name. Barry White is dead! Dead! He’s dead! Def, def, do-def, def, def, def. Def, def, f-def. Def. So dead. Come on back to me baby; never go away. Can’t get enough of your love. Barry White’s dead!

Somewhere, someone is dying from a little lack of attention. It doesn’t matter who’s right, anymore. It’s just a matter of redemption. Some say that life is just a game, Fuck the Fortune, Fuck the Fame. I’ll spend one more night on this bed. Whoa. Hey, hey, hey! Sleepin’ on yesterdays. Drink your dreams up, piss them away. ‘Cuz nothin’ ever changes. It’s all the same but the name.

We used to hang out on the weekends talking about the times we’ve had, but the thing about it now is we’re talking about how, we can hang out again. Why do I have to fight with you every night, Jackie Chan Girl? In the past it didn’t bother me so. We used to fight but I just didn’t know that she’s a black belt and I’ve never never felt like I do when she’s through with me. You are my girlfriend and I love you so, so why you didn’t tell me you were good at Tae Kwon Do. I knew Bruce Lee, and he knew me. So why can’t you just let me go back home? Why do I have to fight with you every night, Jackie Chan Girl?

Star-Studded 02:16
Just walkin’ ‘round town, tryin’ to find something to do. There is nothing I’m finding, there is nothing to do. Maybe it’s time, to go and find a new line. We’ve got nothing to lose. I won’t go if you won’t go, the letterboxes show. I know that you know that I just don’t know that I know that you know. I wanna go, but I can’t because you’re star-studded. You’re star-studded! Don’t wanna know about the bad things. Star-studded! Just walkin’ ‘round town, tryin’ to find something to do. There is nothing I’m finding, there is nothing to do. Maybe it’s time to cruise, and we’ve got nothing to lose. Are you cool with that?

about

These tracks were recorded in 1997-98 on a Tascam Portastudio 488 mkii. I wanted to remix these songs from the original cassettes but I couldn't find a working deck for a decent price. I'll write more about this later.
